NOTE: STREET CLOSURES FOR GRAND OPENING OF THE INTERNATIONAL CIVIL RIGHTS CENTER & MUSEUM on Sunday-Monday, 1/3110 to 2/01/10. The downtown area will experience heavy traffic and congestion beginning Sunday, 1/31/10 through mid-afternoon on Monday, 2/01/10 as a result of the scheduled grand opening of the International Civil Rights Center & Museum. Downtown workers, employees and patrons are advised to consider alternative work and parking schedules for Monday: work from home, stagger hours of operation and appointments or make alternate downtown parking arrangements. Area garages, surface lots and street parking will most likely be full before 6:00am on 2/01/10 to accommodate the first of several events associated with the grand opening ceremony and ribbon cutting, which begin at 5:30am and runs through 2:00pm.
Elm Street (Washington to West Market), February One Place and Davie Street (Washington to West Market) will close to vehicular traffic beginning Sunday, 1/31/10 at 2:00pm and will reopen at approximately 2:00pm on 2/01/10.
Greene Street (lane closure from Washington to West Market) will be closed beginning Sunday, 1/31/10 at 2:00pm and will reopen at approximately 2:00pm on 2/01/10.
