Bands in the Stands: July 14 features The Dynamites with Charles Walker from Nashville, TN.  Tickets $5 and can be purchased at the Grasshoppers box office and The Hoppers Yard. Gates open at 5pm, shows open to all ages. Concert series runs April thru October featuring local, regional and national acts on the second Friday of every month. www.gsohoppers.com

 

Peter Pan: Community Theatre Greensboro (ctg) presents the timeless magical Peter Pan at the Carolina Theatre as first presented on Broadway and in the movies generations ago.  Showtimes: 7pm show 7-14, 15, 20, 21 and 22. Eastern Music Festival Fringe Series: If you missed the Fringe series it’s not too late to attend a concert in downtown at Triad Stage or The Flying Anvil. Team USA versus Japan All Stars: The 2006 USA Baseball National Team and Team Japan will play Game 4 of the 35th annual USA vs. Japan collegiate All-Star Series at First Horizon Park in Greensboro on July 28 at 7:00 pm. For more information, call 268-2255.  The game will be part of USA Baseball's Road to the World Championships Summer Tour that includes games at eight minor league stadiums throughout North and South Carolina. Hints Downtown: Downtown’s newest clothing store relocated from State Street to 236-F S. Elm Street.  Owner Theresa Williams specialty is casual urban women’s and men’s clothing.  Hints Downtown carries designer wear such as House of Dereon, Joe’s Jeans, Monarchy, People’s Liberation, and To Be Free and Single.  Hints Nails, Tees, Etcetera remains at the  original location. Elsewhere Artist Collaborative: Grand opening celebration was held on July 8 for this very unique conceptual artists space that uses 70 years of thrift resource materials to express art mediums. Nothing is for sale and art objects must remain within the space. Elsewhere is a 501c3 organization funded in parts by grants from the United Arts Council and Greensboro’s Community Foundation Future Fund. Address 606-608 S. Final Auditions for Greensboro Youth Chorus Choirs 2006-07:  For third graders and up, auditions will be held on Monday July 31 and August 14 between 4:20-6:00pm in the Music Rehearsal Hall, Level I in the Greensboro Cultural Center.  For additional information, contact Lynn Donovan at (336) 373-2549.

 

 

ROAD CONSTRUCTION ALERT

 

GREENE ST. PARKING DECK USERS:

Due to unexpected delays, the City of Greensboro will be performing construction on the Greene Street parking deck between Friday, July 14 thru 16.

 

The elevator/lobby will be closed on the Greene Street side after 6pm on Friday, July 14.  Sandblasting of the walls, ceilings and handrails will be performed due to the paint flaking in this area. Work will begin Friday at 6pm and continue through Sunday. 

 

Please use the Washington Street side stairs and/or elevator during this time.
