GET TO THE HEART OF IT ALL...eDowntown Update…January 19, 2006
You get something for FREE Downtown… Something for free isn’t something you read about everyday, but the City of Greensboro is doing just that.  Beginning January 1, 2007, the four city-owned parking decks in the downtown area implemented several new parking incentives. 1.             The first incentive is a FREE hour of parking. Instead of the first 30 minutes of parking in decks being free, the first HOUR of parking is free.  This is a great incentive for downtown parking and your customers. 2.             The second incentive is an adjustment (reduction) in the hourly parking rates in the parking decks. Rather than a tiered rate structure, now there is a flat rate of $0.50 per hour. These new incentives are brought to you by the City of Greensboro as a result of the Comprehensive Parking Study that Downtown Greensboro Inc. was a large part of as well as much public input to make the downtown experience user-friendly.
