Bands in the Stands: Concert series runs April thru October featuring local, regional and national acts on the second Friday of every month. This Friday September 8 features Blueground Undergrass from Atlanta. Tickets $5 and can be purchased at the Grasshoppers box office and The Hoppers Yard. Gates open at 5pm, shows open to all ages. This chic trendy new restaurant will specialize in unprocessed shrimp and other types of seafood, free-range chicken and fresh cut fries cooked in zero trans-fat peanut oil. Owner Brad Semon is setting a new taste downtown with 14 different preservative free dipping sauces along with and bar chef smoothies available with or without alcohol. This restaurant is 100% smoke free to keep in tune with the fresh natural menu and atmosphere. Bar Frye is located at 219 S. Elm Street, Hours: TBA. The Press, A Wine Café: A unique restaurant at Southside that serves full menu of soups, salads, paninis, pizzas and desserts and displays an impressive 150 bottle wine list. This new restaurant is slated to open mid-September located at 301 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and features imported and domestic wines. Owner Mike Hamuka wants The Press to be the “Cheers” of Greensboro and is quaintly nestled in the New Orleans style neighborhood at Southside. The Press will have themed nights to include jazz on Thursdays and wine tasting on Sundays. Hours TBA Rock of Ages: A concert series sponsored by Dalloway Records representing Carolina’s best bands and variety of musical genres will perform at various clubs in Greensboro from September 15 thru September 28, 2006. A variety for all ages, downtown will feature: 9/15 The Flying Anvil, 219 W. New design studio recently opened downtown at 308 S. Elm Street where a customer can come into the studio with idea and Patricia will complete the design process from sketch to stitch.
