The Semester begins on August 11. On September 19, Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Conner will visit the school and hold a question and answer session with students and faculty. | Center City Park There’s something for everyone at Center City Park’s grand opening. Make plans | to attend the heart of YOUR downtown Greensboro in October. Over sixty volunteers have been working enthusiastically with plans for a full week of FREE events and activities designated around different themes. The festivities are anticipated to start Friday, October 13 and last thru Friday, October 20, weather permitting. Mark your calendar for the following events. Friday, October 13: 11:30am-1:00pm Official dedication and ribbon cutting. Join park co-chairs Ms. Alexa Aycock and Mr. Jon Bell, along with park project initiator Action Greensboro, and many dedicated volunteers and organizations who’ve worked diligently over the past four years to make this park a REALITY! Saturday October 14: All day Join in a full day of activity with a walk/run event for children and adults, followed by a day full of family oriented activities. Stick around that night for fireworks and a band. Sunday, October 15: 5:00pm Enjoy a relaxing Sunday evening with the last series concert of Sunday Evening in the Park featuring the Allison King band. Mon-Fri, Oct 16-20 11:30am-1:00pm Enjoy entertainment and activities during your lunch break showcasing talent and opportunities in Greensboro. | ROAD CONSTRUCTION ALERT | Edgeworth Street: GDOT and the City of Greensboro would like to advise of intermitten lane closings on Edgeworth Street between Smith Street and Battleground Avenue starting on Monday, August 7 at 9am. On Wednesday August 9 at 9am, Edgeworth Street will be CLOSED in its entirety for approximately one (1) week. Motorists are asked to follow the detour signs.
