2007 marks art gallery and studio Artmongerz third year in downtown Greensboro. Owner and art maker, Frank Russell, attributes his studio’s success to his ‘Fresh Art’ approach. Every Friday, we have a fresh look. New works and often inside events and featured guests on the first Friday of every month allow the studio to continue to evolve and offer something unique to its shoppers. Frank is nationally known for his signature found art, fish sculptures that hang from the walls and ceilings of his studio made of anything from old cans to rusted wire and loose screws, but Artmongerz still continues to grow its stable of artists, keeping the quality of works interesting and unpredictable. We are trying to be better artists creatively and professionally. Artmongerz is also unique in its management style taking no commission from its artist’s sales allowing the gallery to offer quality, original works at reasonable prices.
In honor of its three year anniversary, Artmongerz will host poetry and spoken word readings on the evening of Friday, August 3, 2007 by established local artists. Featured guests include UNCG library science professor, Dr. James Carmichael, Elon University religious studies professor, L.D. Russell (Frank’s brother) and introducing teacher and poet, Clement D. Mallory. Artists will be exhibiting new works in their selected medium in their private studios and throughout the main gallery and refreshments will be served. The event is anticipated to go on past 9pm. First Friday and ART STOP Shop downtown the First Friday of every month, Artmongerz celebrates its three year anniversary on this First Friday, August 3.
