Downtown Greensboro Inc. recently mailed our quarterly Progress Report newsletter. This report includes welcome to President Ed Wolverton, Retail Initiative Program, International Downtown (IDA) Award, Keep America Beautiful Campaign, downtown business NEWS, and Festive Fridays.

Festive Fridays will be held this Friday 12-7 and 12-14, this week includes First Friday and Art Stop. Many downtown retail and art galleries have extended hours for your downtown holiday shopping experience.  Be sure to stop by and visit DGI’s hospitality tent for free hot cider and register to win drawing for gift basket at the corner of S. Elm and Washington Streets!

 

·        Luminaries along storefronts downtown;

·        Complimentary gift wrapping at Biltmore Hotel, 111 W. Washington;

·        Hospitality tent with free cider, register to win gift basket of downtown goods;

·        Holiday carolers;

·        Your $3 half price ticket at the Children’s Museum includes visit from Santa (12-7 & 12-14);

·        Horse drawn wagonette (12-14 only), $5.00 fee.

Congratulations to this year's 2007 downtown Window Decorating Contest winners. This year was full of lots of creativity and style, contest performed by Grassroots Productions in conjunction with Festival of Lights.  Third place resulted in tie.
