The Greensboro Youth Council will host their 20th annual Ghoulash! Halloween Festival in the Downtown Cultural District. This is a safe and fun event for all of the family and it’s FREE:   ·      Face painting and removable tattoos for kids of all ages. ·      Greensboro Historical Museum will have a moonlight cemetery walk ·      City Arts Children’s Theater will have a Sleepy Hollow Haunted cemetery in the Cultural Center. ·      Costume contest for children 10 years and under will be held on the outdoor stage (judged for originality and overall appearance).   6:00-6:30pm  kids under 3 years 6:45-7:15pm kids ages 4-6 years 7:30-8:00pm kids ages 7-10 years   Prizes awarded to the first three winners.    There will also be lots of other activities, various fundraising game booths, tons of great festival food and loads of FREE CANDY. This event will be held at Downtown Greensboro Cultural District on Church & Davie Streets (Festival Park area). Read More     Center City Park:  Mark your calendar, Action Greensboro invites you to the opening of Center City Park December 1, 2006. After the ribbon cutting ceremony, there will be free hot dogs and other attractions from 11am-1pm.  Stop by to marvel at downtown Greensboro’s heart space of the city.    The weeklong celebrations are currently postponed and slated for Spring 2007.  Please stay tuned for updates. www.centercitypark.org   Greensboro Historical Museum Now a Smithsonian Affiliate The Greensboro Historical Museum has been granted Affiliate status as ongoing efforts to serve Greensboro and Piedmont Triad residents. In addition to borrowing objects from the Smithsonian’s collections, Affiliates can take advantage of superb outreach services such as traveling exhibits, lectures, programs, workshops, and even Smithsonian staff expertise in exhibit development, conservation, and collections care. MARKET Street: Water Resources is performing construction work on E.  Market Street near Church Street, roadway merges to one lane eastbound.
