What’s Happening DOWNTOWN Greensboro  April 17 thru April 24   Here’s a quick rundown of the upcoming activities.     Education     Where’s the closest dry cleaner? Is anyone open for Sunday brunch?  How many museums are in Downtown?  You and your employees can confidently answer these questions and others by enrolling in the Downtown Hospitality Training.  Classes are open to downtown workers, Greensboro residents, and anyone looking to learn more and experience downtown.  Thursday, April 24 from 3-5pm in the Self-Help Building, 122 N. Elm Street, Suite 609. The class has a $5 fee. Comedian Robert Dubac gives a hilarious look into the differences between men and women and how people view relationships. The show is at the Carolina Theatre, Friday, April 18 at 8:00pm. Sponsored by the Guilford Green Foundation (GGF), these games draw a multitude of diverse groups for fun and enjoyment.  The event will be held Friday, April 18, at The Empire Room, 203 S. Elm Street. Tickets $15 ($10 w/ student ID), doors open at 7:00pm, bingo starts at 7:30pm (336) 790-8419.  read more   LITTLE FOUR High School Baseball at NewBridge Bank Park (Hopper’s stadium) Saturday, April 19.  Grimsley versus Page high school at 2:30pm and Dudley versus Smith high school at 5:30pm. This is the first annual event. Tickets are available at local school(s) or at the gate, admission $5.   Gold's Gym presents N.C. State Bodybuilding, Fitness & Figure Championships on Saturday, April 19, at the Carolina Theatre. Pre-judging at 10:30am with the finals to start at 6:00pm. Ticket prices are available with credit card or cash in advance through the Box Office only. Day of show will be cash only Adults- $15, Children (6-12) $10, Under 6- free. read more   Premiere: An Evening of Tall Tales from Greensboro, the Green Hill Center for North Carolina Art is happy to host this premiere of featuring Logie Meachum and Bruce Piephoff. Award winning storyteller Meachum and musician Piephoff have collected a series of fanciful stories to commemorate Greensboro’s Bicentennial. In addition, the winners of the Youth Bicentennial Poetry Contest will be on hand to read their poems. They will be joined by the Black Achievers Youth Group from the YMCA who will also be reading their poems. This event is produced in collaboration with Poetry Greensboro.
