Get Down!Town:  Is a big WELCOME to all area college students to downtown Greensboro!  This event is presented by synerG and scheduled for Saturday September 9TH from 7 to 12pm midnight.  Enjoy a FREE back-to-college music fest and party and introduce college students to Greensboro, our downtown, nightlife, restaurants, and entertainment.  The festivities will be held at the corner of S. Elm and McGee Streets downtown. ALL students and community members are welcome to this event! Free parking and shuttles available.

 

The event kicks off with a Fastest Kid in Town Road Race at 6pm followed by two stages of live entertainment and give-aways from J. Goodman, KZL, WTWB, and more.  Get there early for the Freebees!

ROAD CONSTRUCTION ALERT

 

GDOT and the City of Greensboro would like to inform you of the following:

 

GREENE STREET PARKING DECK USERS: The Greene Street stairwell and elevator lobby will be CLOSED at 7pm on Friday August 18 thru Monday August 21-mid day. 

 

Sandblasting will be performed due to the paint flaking in this area.  Please use the Washington St. side stairs and elevator if you are using the deck

 

EDGEWORTH STREET: On Wednesday August 9 at 9am, Edgeworth Street will be CLOSED in its entirety for approximately one (1) week at Edgeworth Street between Smith Street and Battleground Avenue.  Motorists are asked to follow the detour signs.  

 

The affected roadways are expected to be open for normal use within six to eight weeks. For additional information see press release (pdf) at the following link:
