Skate Fashion Store Opens in Downtown Greensboro

Downtown Greensboro welcomes its first skate-fashion boutique with the opening of Social at 108 W. McGee Street.  The store is part of the growing regional chain named Board Paradise that specializes in skateboards, accessories and other related items.

Social is the eighth retail store to open in North Carolina under the Board Paradise umbrella since the inaugural store opened on Battleground Avenue in 1999.  Unlike its other locations, Social uses the intimate space to offer a unique collection of T-shirts, jeans, and sneakers.  The shop also has accessories including hats and sunglasses.  Fashion lines include Obey, The Hundreds, Freshjive, Alife, Upper Playground, LRG, American Apparel and Oakley.

“This is the second specialty apparel store to open on McGee Street in the past month,” noted DGI President Ed Wolverton.  “This store targets a specific consumer group that routinely comes Downtown and the savvy operators will be open into the night to better meet the needs of their customers,” he said.

Social is located at 108 W. McGee Street and can be reached at (336) 279-1004 or at myspace.com/socialgboro or boardparadise.com.  Shop hours are Noon-8:00pm Monday through Friday, Saturday Noon-11:00pm, and Sunday 1:00-5:00pm.  Find other Board Paradise locations in High Point, Boone, Hickory, Winston Salem and Charlotte.
