restaurants seats 42
corner of N. Greene and Bellemeade St.’s |
Riva’s TRATTORIA Downtown’s newest restaurant focuses on natural and local foods opened last week at the corner of North Greene and Bellemeade Streets specializing in simple, fresh, Northern Italian-style cuisine. Co-owners Rob and Tracy Lamothe will focus on using local and natural foods in all the restaurant’s dishes and educate customers about “Slow Food” concept that originated in Italy. Menu items like the Inner Harbor Shrimp Salad and Lasagna Bolognese will almost always be prepared using local produce and free-range meats. All salads are served with homemade dressings made with fresh herbs and spices. Because of the preference to buy local, menu choices will consistently be updated depending on what is in season. Tracy will serve as head chef and use original, family recipes while Rob will act as host hoping to greet and connect with each visitor. In keeping with traditional Italian-style dining, bright yellows and reds adorn the walls and Italian music will play in the background. “We want the restaurant to be an extension of our home,” said Rob Lamothe. He added that “our goal was to open a place offering casual, affordable and authentic food where families and couples can feel comfortable.” For restaurant hours and additional information click here.
